Your Local Left Team In Dawson

I am a small business owner running a newsagency in Bowen, and I am also a councillor on the Whitsunday Regional Council. I have spent 20 years in local government, with 15 years as Mayor. I have previously run for the seat of Dawson, and I represented the Labor Party last year in our fight for Burdekin. I’ve spent most of my working life striving to see our regions grow stronger, develop and prosper. We need to invest in our people and support our agriculture, mining and small business sectors. I believe in better jobs and training opportunities for our kids. I know our regional communities have to work harder to make sure we are in the game and not forgotten, and I’ll fight for you at state conference.

I’m asking for your support to be a State Conference delegate for Dawson. I live in the outer suburbs of Townsville and know how important it is that we have delegates that understand the issues impacting regional members and communities. The rising cost of living across North and Central Queensland continues to cause stress on our families and if elected I’ll speak up for better solutions to cost of living pressures. I’ve been a union member for more than 40 years and a delegate and executive member for more than a decade with Together. Working in education has shown me the need to do more to support schools with better funding and staffing ratios.

I’m passionate about advocating for working people and if elected will push hard as I’ve always done for those who need a real progressive voice.
